The University of California, San Diego North Campus Student Housing provides 1076
new apartment-style beds for undergraduate students. This is a design-build fast track
development, consisting of one 14-story tower, and two 3-story residential buildings over
podium structures as well as three 3-story and two 4-story low rise residential buildings
on grade.

The Tower building gravity system is post tension slab supported by concrete columns.
The lateral system is concrete shear walls in both directions.

The podium buildings gravity system is post tension slab supported by columns. The
lateral system is also concrete shear walls. The 3 -story light frame buildings above the
podium consists of light weight concrete topping over metal deck spanning between light
gage metal stud bearing wall systems. The lateral resisting system is Sure Board shear
walls.

The low rise buildings are a complex of 3-story and 4-story light frame metal stud bearing
wall buildings similar to Buildings 2 and 3. The lateral resisting system is Sure Board
shear walls and Special Concentric Braced Frames.
