Award of Excellence, Library Architecture
American Institute of Architects

Towell, the temporary home of the University of California, Los Angeles' Library is a unique structure utilizing 5,000 square yards of vinyl coated woven polyester over an aluminum designed rib structure. The quick and economic construction nature of this 36,000 square foot structure made this temporary structure possible while the Powell Library underwent seismic renovation.
