The age of the building, having been constructed prior to modern building codes, motivated concern with respect to this 22-story building. We were retained to seismically evaluate this structure by carefully considering the strength inherent in the existing structural steel frame and concrete construction. Based on our review, we concluded that, based on life-safety concerns, only minimal rehabilitation work was required. In addition, we reviewed major nonstructural elements and formulated recommendations to mitigate these hazards.
