Phase I of this substantial project consists of a six-story office building over a four level subterranean steel structure garage. Among the many challenges we encountered during this project are: a) its close proximity to an active seismic fault and b) the long and narrow shape of the upper structure.

By using the three interior braced frame towers and minimal exterior moment frames, we were able to achieve 10 psf overall steel weight for the entire structure.
