The Regent Beverly Wilshire consists of the eight-story Wilshire Wing built in 1926 and the twelve-story Beverly Wing built in 1968. Functional alterations and additions were essential for both wings. The Wilshire Wing required structural engineering design for new dining facilities and elevators and renovation of the Lobby and guest rooms. The Beverly Wing required structural engineering design for a new suspended freight elevator and suspended hot tub and for renovation of the Wintergarden Ballroom ceiling and guest rooms. The work in both wings was completed while the Regent remained fully operational. A strong field presence was required for both wings to limit construction delays.
