The Bakersfield Ice Sports Center, adjacent to the McMurtrey Aquatics Center, features a one-story building housing a regulation size ice rink for the public. Adjacent to the ice rink are bleacher seats for 500 persons. The building houses locker rooms, small vending areas, and office space for the Center and features clear long-span trusses that span across the ice rink. Mechanical ventilation ducts were located within the long trusses to reduce the building height. The architecural sloping exterior walls create a dynamic space and structure for the public.
