Hollywood, CA | 2,300,000 sq ft

Ovation Hollywood (originally Hollywood & Highland), a major retail entertainment development surrounding the Mann’s Chinese Theater, covers approximately four square blocks, and includes the 3,300-seat Dolby Theatre, permanent home of the Academy Awards. Reclaiming Hollywood as an entertainment destination, the project includes 640,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, multiplex cinema, and a live theater over 6 levels of parking for 3,000 cars. A hospitality component of the complex includes the renovation and expansion of an existing 22-story hotel with 640 rooms.

Unique to this project is the innovative design of a structural system integrating precast concrete below grade and precast concrete with structural steel above grade. The use of precast concrete enabled the fast track project to meet its scheduling. Critical to the success of the project was our ability to tie into an existing Metro Transit Authority station, deal with an existing tight site and the coordination between multiple architectural and construction firms.
