Oxnard, CA | five 4 stories / 225 units | 250,000 sq ft

The Sycamore Senior Village is a renovation of an existing structure consisting of five buildings constructed between 1964 to 1970. The building complex was an abandoned Saint John’s Hospital which was gutted and converted to a 225-unit senior housing complex. We worked with the architect in revising the existing perimeter concrete wall to allow for improved window layouts without triggering a complete seismic building retrofit. The result was an economical conversion of an underutilized building into a pleasing and much needed addition to the neighborhood.
