Los Angeles, CA | 2 stories | 24,846 sq ft

The Campus Police Station is a two-story multi-purpose structure that houses all operations of the University of California, Los Angeles Police Department. With a total area of 24,846 square feet, the facility includes administrative offices, a data communication center, temporary holding facility and parking for emergency vehicles below the upper floor in the rear of the building.

Classified as an essential facility, it is structurally designed to be operational under a major seismic event. Based on the site conditions and the building’s functional requirements, different lateral force resisting systems were combined to provide the most economical and technically efficient design solution.

Located at the intersection of the Westwood Blvd and Charles E. Young Dr. South, the east and the south side of the building feature large glazed windows. The remainder of the exterior façade is made of a special ‘UCLA’ brick composition to be in harmony with the historical brick finish that is typical for the
campus
