The requirements of the state of the art Institute for Biogenesis Research facility had to be accommodated to fit into an existing courtyard. Infill structures are always a challenge as there are many existing conditions to work around. The key to meeting a tight schedule and working within a limited space was solved by a structural solution of a structural steel framing system to meet an early bid before Architectural plans could be completed.

The Institute for Biogenesis Research was built to focus on a curriculum that is a problem-based learning format involving history-taking and physical diagnosis, behavioral science, and community medicine.

The facility is 15,000 square feet in 2 levels dedicated to the development of germ cell research, cloning, transgenesis and prevention and cure of congenital malformation.
